The YCA Grading Program

This site represent the first stage towards putting the grading system on-line, so that the public can log on and see the latest chess results. Historically, grading has been a retrospective process, annually processing past results. In future this site will introduce on-line match cards, allowing team captains to instantly report and publish match results, automatically updating the league tables. With the collaboration of event organisers, the site could also look forwards, publishing fixture lists and calendars.

The new program uses the MySQL database which runs on a web-site. So far it contains one year's standardplay results, which were entered using the previous dBase program written by Peter Tate. Migrating the data has been time-consuming, and I am aware of mis-handling club lists concering players who belong to multiple clubs. If you find such errors, or any others, please let me know.

Non Yorks Players In the past, foreigners playing in Yorkshire Congresses were not recorded by name, and only their ECF grades were recorded.
